How I Produce Quick, Consistent, Helpful Content

Creating meaningful content on a consistent basis isn’t about waiting for the right moment.

It’s about being ready when it shows up.

Life throws curveballs. Kids, jobs, relationships. Sometimes the interruption is the point. But most of the time, the block comes down to one thing:

Lack of preparation.

I learned early the importance of being prepared.

First as a Boy Scout, later in the military, that “Always be prepared” isn’t just a motto. It’s a system. It means showing up ready. Having a plan. Executing.

That mindset is how I approach writing. I treat each article like a mission. There’s a planning phase. There’s an execution phase. And then, the job is done.

It’s not for everyone. But parts of it can work for anyone.

Here’s the system I use to write fast, often in under 30 minutes.

1. Curate Constantly

Ideas are everywhere. I bookmark everything: articles, Reddit threads, quotes, whatever sparks something.

I use Raindrop.io to organize it all. It works in every browser and keeps my idea vault full and searchable.

2. Use a Format

I rely on go-to formats—some saved in Google Docs, some memorized. Templates speed everything up. They reduce decision fatigue and let me focus on the message.

3. Let AI Be Your Assistant

I never let AI write my piece. But I absolutely let it:

  • Pressure test ideas
  • Dig up relevant sources
  • Tighten my drafts

AI is my second pair of eyes—fast, tireless, and brutally honest.

4. Build a Writing Zone

I don’t need silence. Chaos doesn’t bother me. But if I need to lock in, I’ll throw on headphones and play Jóhann Jóhannsson. Find your ideal input. Use it on demand.

5. Don’t Force It

If something’s pulling your attention away, handle it. Then write. Writing with half your brain doesn’t work. That said, don’t use “waiting for the vibe” as a way to procrastinate. You know the difference.

These five practices let me write fast without sacrificing quality.

The system is flexible, repeatable, and built to scale with your time and energy.

You don’t need a military mindset to benefit from preparation. You just need a strategy that lowers friction.

Preparation isn’t boring. It’s power.

And in my experience, planning beats perfection every time.
